Our Mission:

The North Texas Coalition of Uniformed Service Academies (NTCUSA) is dedicated to honoring and recognizing all North Texas Cadets and Midshipmen who attend one of our country’s premiere Service Academies.   We want to recognize these stellar young men and women who are committing not only their college years to training for service to our country but are also committing a significant amount of time following their graduation to the defense of our nation.  The NTCUSA offers a unique opportunity to salute and thank these young men and women by organizing and hosting the annual All Service Academies’ Holiday Ball in their honor.

About Us

Established in 1993, volunteers from each of the five North Texas Service Academy Parent Clubs established the NTCUSA in order to produce a celebratory event to honoring and recognize the Cadets and Midshipmen from the North Texas area.  A formal military Ball, held at Christmastime when all the Cadets and Midshipmen come home for the Holidays, was determined to be the best way to celebrate and honor these young men and women in a unified setting with all their friends and family.

The first Holiday Ball was held in 1993 with barely 250 attendees.  In recent years it has grown to 1,000 guests, including Cadets, Midshipmen, families, friends, government and military dignitaries and other special guests.

Organizational leadership for the Holiday Ball event rotates between the five Service Academy Parent Clubs in North Texas, with volunteer representatives from all the clubs taking various planning and organizational roles.   The 2010 Holiday Ball is being hosted by the North Texas Naval Academy Parents Club and the 2011 event will be hosted by the North Texas Air Force Academy Parents Club.

Underwritten by citizens and business organizations, the North Texas All Service Academies’ Holiday Ball is an upscale formal affair; mess dress for military and black tie for other guests. Complete with military pageantry, each Cadet and Midshipman is honored with a special gift bag and a commemorative challenge coin.  Also, each graduating Senior is given a special gift and is recognized at the Ball for his or her Academy achievements. This gala evening also includes fine dining, a keynote speaker, entertainment and dancing.
